Install
Opera Neon is a desktop browser application, not an npm package or CLI tool. There is no terminal install command. You download and install it like any other browser.
Install Steps
Visit the official site
Go to https://operaneon.com and click Get Opera Neon.
Subscribe
Opera Neon requires an active subscription. You will be prompted to create or sign in to an Opera account and select a plan at https://operaneon.com/subscription.
Download the installer
After subscribing, download the installer for your platform (Windows or macOS). Linux support was not confirmed on the official site as of June 2026.
Run the installer
- Windows: Run the downloaded
.exeinstaller and follow the on-screen prompts. - macOS: Open the downloaded
.dmg, drag Opera Neon to your Applications folder, then open it from Applications.
- Windows: Run the downloaded
Sign in
On first launch, sign in with your Opera account. Your subscription will be validated and the agentic features will be unlocked.
MCP Connector Setup (optional)
Opera Neon supports Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors that extend what agents can do. MCP configuration is handled inside the browser's settings panel, not via a terminal command. Refer to the in-browser documentation or the community Discord for specific connector setup steps.
CLI Path Integration (optional)
Neon supports CLI paths for tool integration within agent workflows. These are configured through the browser's agent/task settings. No separate CLI binary is distributed.
System Requirements
Opera does not publish a detailed system requirements page as of June 2026. Based on the FAQ, Neon runs on modern desktop operating systems. Check the subscription FAQ at https://operaneon.com/subscription for the current requirements field.
